C-SCOPE
C-SCOPE is the instructional framework that the district uses to provide a common language, process, and structure for curriculum development that is aligned to a written, taught, and tested curriculum needed for teachers who must teach what the TEKS demand. This is a collaboratively developed document to insure that the delivery of instruction is focused on student learning needs. C-SCOPE is developed and supported by a collaboration of educational service centers and supported locally by ESC Region 19. C-Scope provides the following: Curriculum built on research and best practice; operates in conjunction with digitized IEP’s; provides a sequential lesson structure for all teachers to use, online 24/7 system for access; and provides a basis for building collaborative assessments by grade level/subject area. Implemented in August 2008.
Accelerated-Reader
AR is a web based software program focused on reading skills, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. AR provides read to, read with, and independent reading instructional techniques primarily in grades K-8th. The system also provides reading quizzes, literacy skill assessments and a Home Connect piece for parental involvement.
Accelerated-Math
AM is a web based software program that provides practice of math objectives aligned to the textbook, TEKS, and TAKS. Skill reinforcement and student understanding are assessed on a daily basis in each teacher’s classroom grades 2nd- 12th. AM promotes differentiated instruction and cooperative learning while providing a data base system and ongoing monitoring for teachers, and a Home Connect piece for parental involvement.
Dyn-Ed-English-Language-Learning-Solutions
Dyn-Ed is a research-based, technology assisted program designed to focus on the four skills necessary for language acquisition-reading, writing, listening, speaking. The program develops a language base for non-native learners through a listening and visually based system as opposed to a text based approach. The instruction is multi-sensory, fully interactive with students and provides a scope and sequence for language learners.
The-Senior-Project
Building Rigor and Complexity into the Senior Year of High /School Anthony High School requires seniors to complete the Senior Project as a requirement for graduation. The Senior Project was adapted from the project from the Distinguished Achievement Program requirements as outlined by the state of Texas. The AHS Senior Project is composed of five parts: I) a formal proposal for the area of study; 2) a research paper on the related subject and processes involved; 3) a product that demonstrates the acquisition of knowledge and its application to a specific problem or investigation; 4) a portfolio that documents the intricacies and processes in developing the Senior Project; and 5) the presentation to an adult panel who will question every aspect of the project.
Microsoft-Office-Specialist-(MOS)-Certification
This program being offered at Anthony High School provides its students computer skills widely used in the business world. These skills include mastering Word and Powerpoint. The computer programs are recognized as world-wide standards for word processing and visual presentations.
Northwest-Evaluation-Association-(NWEA)-Measures-of-Academic-Progress-(MAP)
Measurement of Academic Progress is an on-line assessment program that tests students (second through twelfth grades) in reading and mathematics to measure their strengths and weaknesses while measuring their academic progress based on the instructional interventions in the classroom. Students could be tested up to four times a year and the data would be archived to track the progress of students from elementary through high school.
Texas-Math-and-Science-Diagnostic-Systems
TMD and TSD are both online assessment tools developed by Princeton Review and provided through TEA. System assesses student learning in Math and Science in grades 3rd through 12th.
English-Language-Proficiency-Standards
Texas Education Code now requires that all teachers deliver instruction using the newly approved English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) to English Language Learners (ELL’s) in their classroom. The ELPS focus instruction so as to improve the student’s proficiency in all forms of communication in the English language.
Region-19-ESC-Head-Start
The Region 19 ESC Head Start Public School Transition Program is designed to strengthen linkages between early childhood and elementary school programs ensuring continuity of services and a smooth transition for children and their families from the Head Start Program to Anthony Elementary School.
AISD-Pre-K-3-and-4-Programs
The district provides one-half day instructional programs for 3 and 4 year old students who qualify for the program according to federal standards. Students are instructed on basic skills in preparation for kindergarten. The Pre-K 3 program has a limited number of seats available.
