The students, faculty, and staff at Anthony Elementary School are striving to become a recognized school. We are working to ensure that our students are provided with the best education to achieve academic excellence. Planning and goal setting are integral components of our curriculum and we are all committed to providing the students the opportunities to experience success that will ultimately help them attain life-long goals.

At Anthony Elementary School we are working diligently to meet the academic, emotional, and developmental needs of our students. We provide students with instructional programs and interventions to ensure that they meet or score above the state assessment standards.

Following are some of the programs and initiatives that have been implemented. They are included in our campus action plan to meet the needs of our students and to achieve our set learning goals:

• Accelerated Pull-out Tutorial Program For Reading;

• Lexia Computer Lab ( PBR, SOS, Guided Reading, Jump Start, Inicio a la Lectura, PAVE, & Sticky Bear Programs);

• Participation in the El Paso Times Annual Spelling Bee Competition.

Anthony Elementary also provides its special needs students with instruction in a Resource Classroom in accordance to their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This dedicated classroom allows the students to work in an environment that meets their individual instructional needs. In some cases, major instruction is done in the mainstreamed classroom. Content Mastery allows for the students to have additional academic reinforcement, as necessary, in the content areas. A learning development classroom (life skills) classroom is also made available and serves students with disabilities and other coding needing special education related services.

Finally, Anthony Elementary School is fortunate to have students from the University of Texas at El Paso , New Mexico State University, and El Paso Community College involved in our remediation and accelerated tutorial programs.
