Greetings to Anthony ISD Students, Parents and Staff:

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!!! As we all know, the start of each new school year is an exciting time for students, staff and parents. 2011-12 is the year that the STAAR/EOC rises in Texas with the new accountability assessment for students.  Change can sometimes be difficult to deal with but as educators we know that our profession is constantly changing and evolving to meet the ever changing needs of our students. During the coming 18 months that we transition into STAAR, our staff will be working hard to prepare students for the more rigorous tests. Through this time of change we must all keep in mind that our basic mission, parental duties, and professional responsibilities do not change---improved student performance is the driving force and we must each do our part and fulfill our parental and professional responsibilities to see that this occurs.

I would like all of you to know that it has indeed been my pleasure to have the opportunity to be the Superintendent of the Anthony Independent School District for the past four years. During the time, Anthony ISD has been able to accomplish many positive things for students and it is my intention as your Superintendent to build upon the positive experiences and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to enhance the future performance of our students and the organization. As an educator, I firmly believe that the success of any organization does not hinge solely on the efforts of one individual, but rather on the focused efforts, professional commitment and mutual respect of every individual within the organization. We each have a role to fulfill and how we carry out our respective roles will determine the success that we will achieve.
