Mission
The safety and well-being of our students, staff and community is our top priority. The Safety Department is dedicated to providing a safe learning environment where students can focus on their education without distraction. We uphold and strengthen district safety protocols while working hand-in-hand with local, state and federal partners to ensure that every individual in our facilities feels protected.
Bullying Prevention
Anthony Independent School District prohibits bullying on school property, at school-sponsored activities, or I any vehicle operated by the district. Bullying in all forms – verbally, physically or electronically -- is not tolerated at the district. Any student, or parent of a student, who believes the student has experienced bullying is encouraged to immediately report the incident. Retaliation against anyone involved in the complaint is a violation of district policy and is prohibited.
We encourage students to speak up and seek help to ensure that our schools remain safe and welcoming for all.
Reports can be submitted to the school principal or anonymously thorough STOPit.

Doors
Every exterior door in Anthony ISD facilities is required to be closed and locked during the school day.
The district uses a state-of-the-art security system that automatically locks doors when not in use and includes cameras to monitor who is requesting entry.
Anthony ISD patrol officers conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure all doors are properly locked and the mechanisms work properly.
Employee Identification Badges
All Anthony ISD employees are required to wear a photo ID badge during the workday and anytime they are on district campuses or visiting other departments. The badges have emergency phone numbers on the back as well.
Visitor Check-In
All visitors must enter Anthony ISD facilities through the main entrance and check in at the front office. At the time of check-in, visitors must present a valid photo ID.
Authorized visitors will be given directions or escorted to their destination. If employees see someone on campus without proper authorization, they must immediately direct the individual to the front office or notify the administrator in charge of the unautorized person on site.
Emergency Drills
Download the Standard Response ProtocolAnthony ISD routinely conducts safety drills as mandated by the Texas Education Agency, following the Standard Response Protocol set by the Texas School Safety Center.
Parents are notified about upcoming drills through the email on file at least one week in advance. This helps prevent unnecessary concern when a drill takes place.
Drills are held at the following frequency, as required by the Texas School Safety Center:
Secure – 1 per school year
Lockdown – Minimum of 2 per school year (1 each semester)
Evacuate – 1 per school year
Shelter-in-place (severe weather or hazmat) – 1 per school year
Fire Evacuation – Monthly, as required by the El Paso County Fire Marshal
Emergency Closures
Anthony ISD may close schools due to severe weather, health concerns, or other emergencies.
For weather closures, the Superintendent will make the official decision on any closures after reviewing information and consulting with experts on the matter.
If schools need to open late, release students early, or cancel classes, the district will post updates on the Anthony ISD website, social media platforms and notify local TV stations. We will also call and email parents through School Messenger.
To ensure you receive the direct message, please ensure your contact information is up to date by notifying the school of any changes.
Mass Communication System
Keeping our families informed is a top priority at Anthony ISD. We use SchoolMessenger to send phone calls and emails with important information about emergencies.
We also email our families when we have an emergency drill to inform them that regular operations will be briefly interrupted while the district conducts these essential drills.
To ensure these crucial messages reach you, please ensure your child’s campus has the latest contact information for you or your family. If your contact information changes during the year, notify the campus right away.
Thank you for helping us keep you informed!
