President

Mr. Cuellar  has served on the school board for 24 years. He is a  U.S. Navy veteran, serving ten years on active duty. Mr. Cuellar served on the USNS Brunswick and the USS Arkansas, as well as  on Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach in California.  He successfully completed the 24-week Basic Underwater Demolition/ SEAL training program. Mr. Cuellar  and his wife are the proud parents of three children who attended Anthony ISD school and they have four grandchildren. He has lived in Anthony, Texas, all his life and is a volunteer coach for area youth in Soccer, Baseball, Softball and Track & Field.

Vice President

Mrs. Vela has lived in Anthony for the past 31 years. Mrs. Vela has two bachelor’s degrees, one in Foreign Language and the other in Criminal Justice. Both degrees are from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She works as a Licensed Court Interpreter for the New Mexico Administrative Office of the Courts. She is a business owner (Homestyle Pizza) and has two children who graduated from Anthony ISD schools. Mrs. Vela and her husband are the proud parents of two children who have graduated from Anthony ISD schools. Mrs. Vela  has served on the board for over nine years.

For the past 30 years, Mrs. Chavez and her family have lived in Anthony, Texas. She has worked for the Town of Anthony for the past 21 years and currently serves as the Public Works Superintendent Assistant. She graduated from the International Business College with a concentration in Data Entry and Accounting. She and her husband are the proud parents of three sons who have graduated from Anthony ISD schools.

Mrs. Garcia worked as an Anthony ISD Elementary Bilingual Teacher for 35 years. Before that, she worked at AISD as a teacher’s aide for four years. She earned her Bachelors in  Education with a concentration in Elementary Education and a Bilingual Certification. She retired from Anthony ISD in 2016 and has served on the school board for the past eight years. Mrs. Garcia and her husband are the proud parents of three children and two grandchildren who have graduated from Anthony ISD schools. They have a total of eight grandchildren. She is an active volunteer at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. Ramirez was born in Las Cruces and is a graduate of Gadsden High School. She moved to Anthony, Texas, in 1984. Mrs. Ramirez has attended  New Mexico State University and the University of Phoenix. She worked for the State of New Mexico Juvenile Probation Department, at Anthony ISD as a Special Education Aide, as the Town Clerk for the Town of Anthony and now works as Director of Operations for the Cano Human Resources Group. She has served on the school board since 2015. Mrs. Ramirez and her husband are the proud parents of three sons who have graduated from Anthony ISD schools.

Mrs. Rodriguez has recently completed her bachelor’s degree in Independent Studies (Minor: Counseling and School Psychology) from New Mexico State University. She has worked for the Gadsden ISD as a Data Entry Clerk and currently as a Special Education Instructional Assistant. She plans to continue her professional growth and become a Special Education teacher. Mrs. Rodriguez has served on the school board since 2019 and has lived in Anthony, Texas, for the past 38 years. She and her husband are the proud parents of four Anthony ISD students – a 4th grader, a freshman, a junior and a 2025 graduating senior.

Secretary

Mrs. Singh and her husband are business owners of the 133 acres that comprise C & J Singh Farms and the Pecan House in Anthony, Texas.  In addition to pecans, C & J Farms, which has been part of the Anthony community since 1935, grows crops like alfalfa and cotton which are sold all over the world. She has served on the Anthony ISD school board for over twenty years as Trustee, Secretary, Vice-President and President. Mrs. Singh and her husband are the proud parents of three children who have graduated from Anthony ISD schools and are the grandparents of two children, one who has started at Anthony Elementary School.
